Maybe some you guys been wondering bout the differential between helicopter pilots and airplane pilots? The thing is, an airplane by its nature wants to fly and if not interfered with too deliberately by unusual incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces and controls working in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying immediately and disastrously. Which mean, we have use both our hands and legs.
There is no such thing as a gliding helicopter. For airplane in case of any engine failure, at certain height they can glide through until they reach the ground, and for helicopter we don't have such a thing. This is why being a helicopter pilot is so different from being an airplane pilot, and why, in general, airplane pilots are open, clear-eyed, bouyant extroverts, and helicopter pilots are introspective anticipators of trouble. They know if something bad has not happened, it is about to. So, according to my instructor, helicopter pilots are away much cooler than airplane pilot. And why? because we are relax even though we have to occupied all of our senses with nonsense stuff. hahaha
